Sol | The Restaurant
This is the first part of a three-part collaborative project for Experiential design. Working with an interior designer, my partner and I designed a hotel, restaurant and bar. This fictitious hotel is in Cartersville, Ga., a city we visited as a class.
To create the concept for our restaurant, which we named Sol, we began with a question: What if a restaurant were like the morning sun? We wanted to create a festive and inviting space, and become the go-to breakfast spot in Cartersville.
We drew heavily from the 1960s for inspiration when we created the logo, where concentric circles serve as the “o.” Circles were the primary shape that we used, and they infused the project with a warm spirit, like in the custom wall covering that (theoretically) welcomes guests every morning.
