The Ross Lynn Charitable Foundation

I began an internship with the Ross Lynn Charitable Foundation, at the Creative Exchange Art Gallery in Ruston, in 2022.

The Ross Lynn Foundation was created to reflect the life of Ross Lynn, and RLCF’s purpose is to convey his legacy through its programs and scholarship. Throughout my time here, I have created social media posts and branding for different events sponsored by the foundation.

Examples of my work include branding that I created for the Plein Air Series, an event where artists are encouraged to work outside, and for the RLCF Retrospective, a podcast where artists discuss their work and process. I also got the opportunity to design two books for the foundation: ”Glimpses From the Great Pause” and “A Distant Beauty.”

”Glimpses From the Great Pause” is the first book I designed for the Ross Lynn Charitable Foundation. It chronicles a virtual artist residency that took place during the pandemic. The artists found this was a great way to keep connected, and to continue making despite the lockdown. We decided to keep the layout and design really simple, and to let the art and artists speak for themselves.

“A Distant Beauty” is the second book I designed for the Ross Lynn Charitable Foundation. This project was extremely rewarding to work on, and is very close to my heart. Published by the Ross Lynn Foundation and edited by noted writer, Robert Benson. This work is a multi-year project to compile some of Ross Lynn’s best photography and pair them with quotes from his journals. Additionally, quotes from contemplatives and thinkers Ross was a follower of have been incorporated to produce a work that invites the reader to sit with each page, reflecting on life and their journey through it. It is an invitation to view the world as Ross did, looking through the haze of uncertainty to see a distant beauty. The book is currently for sale on their website.
