Don’t Vote in the Dark
For this assignment, I created an identity system for Get Out the Vote, which works to increase voter literacy. The system included a logo, a website, a poster, a voter handbook and a bus to transport voters.
I chose young people (ages 18-25) for my audience. To reach this demographic, which is among the least likely to vote, I created a campaign called “don’t vote in the dark,” and chose a bright color palette. The goal of the campaign was to “illuminate” voting in a new fun way, and to hopefully have an effect on Election Day turnout.
The main service of the campaign was a “voter bus” that takes people to the nearest polling station from designated stops around the city — it is free and available to any interested voters. Another resource I created was a website wireframe with registration location and information (you can’t vote if you’re not registered!), that also included polling site maps and other key information.
